            chimie, l’on a reconnu l’insuffisance de nos no-

            tions sur cette matière, et en tàchant de les faire

            sans cesse, l’on a cherché à leur donner le plus
              <lb/>
            haut degré de probabilité possible; </s>

            jamais senti, plus qu’à présent, combien nos

            connaisances à cet égard sont imparfaites, et

            peuvent être inexacts et contraires aux expé-
